LIPADE Laboratory

The Mathematics and Information Technology TRU is home to two laboratories :

  • the MAP5 (Applied Mathematics at Paris 5) Laboratory, which researches probabilities, statistics, image processing, digital modeling, and the history of mathematics.
  •  and LIPADE (Paris Descartes Information Technology Laboratory), which researches intelligent agents and multi-agent systems, machine learning, image processing, networks, speech processing, and data bases.

With over 60 members, LIPADE offers a dynamic and international research environment. It conducts both theoretical and applied research into topics related to intelligent agents and multi-agent systems, machine learning, image processing, computer vision, networks, databases, and data analysis.

The laboratory is part of Paris Descartes University, an international, multi-disciplinary, and renowned university founded in 1774. It is the second-largest university in the Paris area and one of the top universities in France. It is also ranked in the top 200 universities in the world. With its nine Training and Research Units (TRU), University Technology Institute, and more than 100 research laboratories, Paris Descartes University plays a very active role in fundamental and applied scientific research.
